Dear Troy High Orchestra Parents and Students -

With the sounds of the Holiday Concert still ringing in my ears, I would like to wish all of you a wonderful Holiday Season. I was very pleased with the performances on the concert, and look forward to tackling some new works with all the orchestras, and also refining our performance of the Rachmaninoff for the MMC Conference in January. We will also be preparing the Gala Concert, which, as you know, will be on the 5th of February next year. We are honored to be doing another World Premiere this year, with local artist and composer Kris Johnson. He is finishing up his new piece for jazz quartet and orchestra, which will be the featured work on the Gala this year. We are also very pleased to welcome back Peiming Lin, who will be featured as soloist with the Freshman and Concert Orchestras.

As a family, my wife Mary and I are looking forward to having all three of our grown children back for the holidays, and I hope all of you are able to get together with family and friends for a happy and musical Holiday Season.
